Peru has achieved a significant milestone in its agricultural trade as it successfully shipped its first batch of premium blueberries from the newly operational Chancay port to Shanghai, China. This achievement, led by Qali under the Agrícola Cerro Prieto (ACP) umbrella, highlights the growing demand for high-quality Peruvian produce in international markets and underscores the country’s expanding trade capabilities.

The blueberries, cultivated in the Santa Rosa irrigation zone north of Lima, were carefully grown across more than 150 hectares of farmland dedicated to this crop. ACP highlighted the economic importance of the shipment, noting that the value of the blueberries far exceeds the cost of an imported car from China, demonstrating the high value of this agricultural export.

This successful export reflects not only the quality of Peruvian agriculture but also Peru’s increasing role in the global trade network. ACP proudly emphasized that their commitment to excellence ensures the company remains a leader in international markets. As they continue to grow their export portfolio, this shipment serves as a testament to Peru’s rich agricultural potential and its workforce’s dedication to meeting global demand.

“The successful shipment of our blueberries to Shanghai is a reflection of our commitment to quality and to contributing positively to global trade,” said an ACP representative. “We are proud to showcase the best of Peru and support the country’s expanding economic presence on the global stage.”

This milestone reinforces Peru’s position as a key player in the global agricultural trade, and the export is expected to open doors for further expansion of Peruvian products in distant international markets.
