Membership Terms
Membership Qualifications
Membership in the International Trade Council is open to companies, organizations, and individuals involved in international trade, investment, or similar activities who support the ITC’s objectives and principles.
Membership Fees and Categories
The ITC has several membership types, each with its own set of advantages and expenses. Our website contains detailed information on membership categories, benefits, and costs. Membership dues are non-refundable and must be paid in full at the time of joining or renewing.
Membership Application and Acceptance
To apply for membership, please fill out our online application form on our website. All applications are subject to ITC assessment and approval. The ITC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to reject membership to any candidate.
Membership Duration and Renewal
Memberships are good for one year after approval. Members will receive renewal reminders before their membership term expires. To keep their membership status, members must renew their membership and pay the relevant fees.
Responsibilities of Members
As a member of the ITC, you agree to:
- Comply with the ITC’s goal, principles, and Terms & Conditions.
- Only utilize your membership benefits for your organization or yourself, as applicable.
- Maintain your membership account and contact information.
- Follow all applicable laws and regulations and maintain ethical business practices.
- Promote a positive image of the ITC and avoid any conduct that could jeopardize the organization’s reputation.
Membership Cancellation
The International Trade Council (ITC) is committed to maintaining a community of ethical and responsible businesses. As part of this commitment, the ITC reserves the right to cancel or terminate a member’s membership under specific conditions. Below are the reasons for which membership may be revoked:
- Providing False, Misleading, or Incomplete Information
If a company or individual provides false or misleading information, or fails to provide sufficient information during the membership application process or in subsequent interactions, their membership may be terminated. - Non-Disclosure of Criminal Convictions
If a company or any of its directors or senior management fails to disclose any prior criminal conviction(s) during the application process, and such convictions have not been explicitly accepted in writing by ITC management, the membership may be revoked. - Association with Sanctioned Entities
Being a sanctioned entity, having relationships with sanctioned individuals or entities, or engaging in activities that violate international sanctions may result in immediate membership termination. - Involvement in Illicit Trade
If a member is found to be involved in the trade of illicit goods, including but not limited to counterfeit products, illegal substances, or restricted goods, their membership will be canceled. - Bringing the ITC’s Name into Disrepute
Any actions that harm or bring disrepute to the ITC’s name, mission, or reputation will result in membership termination. This includes unethical business practices, public scandals, or damaging media exposure related to the member’s actions. - Failure to Comply with ITC’s Terms and Conditions
Any breach of the ITC’s Terms and Conditions or failure to adhere to the Council’s mission, values, and ethical standards may lead to membership cancellation. - Unpaid Membership Fees or Outstanding Dues
Failure to pay membership fees or other outstanding payments owed to the ITC within the designated timeframe will result in membership suspension or termination. - Engagement in Fraudulent or Deceptive Practices
Members who are found to be engaging in fraudulent or deceptive business practices, including misrepresentation of products or services, may have their membership revoked. - Failure to Meet Ethical Standards
If a company fails to meet the ethical standards required by the ITC, including environmental, social, or governance-related criteria, their membership can be canceled. - Harmful Political or Religious Affiliations
Any affiliation with groups or activities that promote hatred, violence, or discrimination based on race, religion, or gender, or that conflict with the ITC’s mission, may result in membership termination. - Lack of Participation
A sustained lack of participation in ITC activities or failure to engage in any ITC initiatives over a long period may result in membership review and potential termination. - Failure to Maintain Confidentiality
If a member fails to maintain the confidentiality of any ITC data or proprietary information, including sensitive materials shared through membership, their membership may be immediately canceled. - At ITC’s Discretion
The ITC reserves the right to terminate a membership at any time, for any reason, if the ITC determines that doing so is in the best interest of the Council and its community.
Membership Refunds
In the event of cancellation of membership by the ITC there shall be no refunds given.
Modifications to the Terms and Conditions
The ITC has the right to revise these Terms and Conditions at any time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We encourage you to examine these Terms and Conditions on a frequent basis so that you are aware of your duties as an ITC member.
The Rule of Law
These Terms and Conditions will be construed to be agreed according to the laws of Singapore. Any issues originating from these Terms and Conditions must be handled through mediation, arbitration, or legal action in Singapore.
