Vietnam’s tuna exports are experiencing strong growth in the Middle Eastern market, which has become one of the country’s top export destinations. In 2024, exports to the region increased by 28% compared to the previous year, reaching nearly $113 million.
Several nations in the Middle East have significantly boosted their imports of Vietnamese tuna, with Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE leading the demand. These markets have recorded double-digit growth, reflecting the increasing consumer preference for high-quality seafood products.
Vietnam’s trade prospects in the region are set to improve further with the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the UAE. Once ratified, the agreement will eliminate tariffs on Vietnamese tuna, strengthening trade flows and enhancing market access.
To support this expansion, Vietnamese exporters are investing in Halal certification to meet regional standards. With rising demand for ethically sourced and high-quality seafood, Vietnam is well-positioned to solidify its role as a key supplier in the global seafood industry.
