Ayinde Adeniyi Ayuba is a distinguished Senior Finance Manager at Hamu Legal, a business-oriented law firm with innovation, technology and a better way of providing legal service at heart. As a member of the Innovation and Technology and Intellectual Property, Ayuba serves on the Business Council, contributing his expertise to advance global trade and finance initiatives.

His passion for ESG and sustainability has been pivotal in harmonizing reporting of firms’ impacts, leading to the implementation of IFRS S1 and S2 standards issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).
Ayuba holds an MBA in Sustainability from Nexford University in Washington, DC, and is an ESG Specialist certified by the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI). He is also a member of the Sustainability Policy Commission of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group and has earned certifications from the World Bank Academy, IMF, United Nations, and TCFD. These qualifications have been instrumental in shaping his career and expertise.
Throughout his career, Ayuba has developed sustainability and ESG policies for various entities, created Emission Reports for SMEs, and engaged in ESG due diligence processes, strategy development, and materiality assessments. His professional accomplishments include becoming an ESG Specialist via CFI certification and a member of the Sustainability Policy Commission of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group, Nigeria’s foremost think tank for national policy reforms.
Ayuba has observed significant evolution in the industry, with increasing awareness and demand from investors and stakeholders for entities to prepare for present risks and opportunities. He notes that sustainability reporting has transitioned from a voluntary requirement to a mandatory prerequisite in many regions. However, the industry still faces challenges, particularly around understanding the complexities of sustainability and ESG practices.
Looking ahead, Ayuba envisions the industry becoming more robust, with a greater emphasis on sustainability and ESG advisory functions for a global clientele. He is particularly excited about Nigeria’s early adoption of the IFRS Sustainability Standards – IFRS S1 and S2, which he believes will drive significant advancements in the field.
