French apple exports to the Middle East are thriving, driven by their exceptional quality, diverse varieties, and commitment to eco-friendly practices. The demand for premium, nutritious produce is soaring among luxury retailers, hotels, gourmet dining establishments, and health-conscious consumers in the region.

 

To support this growing interest, a series of promotional activities have been launched to showcase French apples throughout 2024 and 2025. This ongoing campaign emphasizes the outstanding quality and sustainability of French apple production, with the 2024 harvest projected to reach a stable 1.463 million tonnes.

 

While classic varieties such as Royal Gala, Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, and Red Apples remain favorites, there is an exciting surge in popularity for club varieties like Juliet, Pink Lady, and Candine within the Middle Eastern market.

 

A highlight of French apple production is its dedication to eco-conscious practices. Since 2010, French apples have been proudly labeled as “eco-friendly orchards,” with 1 million tonnes produced sustainably. This commitment resonates strongly in the Middle East, where there is a growing demand for environmentally friendly products.

 

The promotional efforts will continue across the Gulf Cooperation Council throughout the remainder of 2024 and into early 2025, building on the success of previous campaigns. Last season, over 443 in-store tasting sessions took place in 182 outlets, featuring sampling, branding, and digital promotions. These initiatives ensured that French apples were prominently featured, enticing consumers with attractive price promotions and exclusive gifts.

 

Additionally, a specialized training program for retail professionals and chefs was launched to enhance local expertise in French apple varieties. This program offered valuable insights into the unique characteristics of these apples, fostering a deeper appreciation among participants.

 

With a strong focus on quality and sustainability, French apples are set to remain a top choice for consumers and professionals in the Middle East, supported by ongoing promotional activities and a commitment to excellence.
