Brazil’s agricultural sector continues its impressive global expansion, with Peru now among the latest markets to welcome Brazilian products. The inclusion of Peru is part of a strategic move that has opened doors for a variety of exports this year, including yerba mate, cassava meal, coconut fiber, dried clove flowers, hay, and derivatives of bovine and swine blood, further enhancing trade between the two countries.
In 2023, Brazil’s agricultural exports to Peru exceeded USD 724 million, covering a diverse range of products from forest goods to meat and soybeans. This strong momentum has carried into 2024, with exports reaching USD 548 million from January through September. Brazil’s apple exports have also gained global traction, bringing in over USD 30 million and reaching nearly 100 destinations worldwide, a testament to Brazil’s quality and appeal in international markets.
These developments represent Brazil’s 194th successful market access achievement in agribusiness this year alone, contributing to a total of 272 new trade opportunities across 61 global markets since 2023. Such progress underscores Brazil’s commitment to fostering sustainable trade relationships and expanding its agricultural footprint on the world stage. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is driving these efforts to position Brazil as a key player in meeting global demand for premium agricultural products.
