The United States has officially agreed to lift the temporary suspension on Mexican beef imports, marking a positive development in bilateral trade between the two nations. Mexican Agriculture Minister Julio Berdegué shared the exciting news on social media, announcing that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) had signed memorandums allowing the resumption of beef imports.

The suspension, which began last November due to the detection of New World screwworm in Mexican cattle, had temporarily halted beef exports to the U.S. Now, with the suspension lifted, trade will once again flow smoothly, showcasing the strong collaboration between the U.S. and Mexico in managing agricultural trade while ensuring the health and safety of livestock.

This development is a clear sign of the resilience and commitment to fostering robust trade ties between the two countries. It not only benefits the Mexican beef industry but also strengthens the U.S. market’s access to high-quality beef products, further deepening economic cooperation.
