The previous edition of the CIIE in 2023 saw a large turnout of exhibitors, buyers, and visitors. This year, more than 50 countries and international organizations have confirmed their participation in the Comprehensive Country Exhibition. Newcomers to the event include Norway, Benin, Burundi, and UNICEF. The exhibition will showcase the achievements of bilateral cooperation between China and other nations, incorporating important milestones such as years of bilateral diplomatic relations, cultural exchanges, and tourism.
The Enterprise & Business Exhibition will feature six main areas: Food and Agricultural Products, Automobiles, Technology Equipment, Consumer Goods, Medical Equipment and Healthcare Products, and Trade in Service, while also maintaining its focus on the Innovation Incubation Zone. The total booked exhibition space has surpassed 360,000 square meters. The organization of trade missions and professional visitors is moving swiftly, with a projected increase in professional attendees at the 7th CIIE.
This year’s Hongqiao International Economic Forum will consist of the main forum and various sub-forums centered around the theme of “High-Standard Opening Up for Universally Beneficial and Inclusive Economic Globalization.” Key events will include the release of the “World Openness Report 2024” and an international seminar to discuss the report’s findings. To foster engagement, pre-ceremony exchange activities, known as the CIIE & HQF Gala, will also be conducted.
Applications for supporting events, which opened on June 19, will close on August 31. The expo will also feature people-to-people exchange activities, inviting relevant institutions from both domestic and international arenas to organize cultural performances around significant bilateral and multilateral themes, highlighting the successful outcomes of friendly exchanges between China and other countries.
