Recent data reveals that seafood exports from Norway have reached impressive levels, totaling NOK 44.1 billion in the third quarter of 2024. This marks an increase of NOK 2.2 billion, or 5%, compared to the same period last year, showcasing a positive trajectory for the industry.

The remarkable growth in export value can be attributed to a record-setting September, leading to the best third quarter ever for seafood. A notable rise in export volumes of popular seafood varieties, including salmon, trout, mackerel, and prawns, has significantly contributed to this success. Furthermore, the absence of currency fluctuations from a weak exchange rate has allowed for a clearer comparison with last year’s performance.

This robust performance highlights the resilience and vitality of the seafood export sector, reflecting a growing global demand for high-quality products. The continued success of this industry not only enhances economic stability but also reinforces its position as a key contributor to international trade.
