In a proactive diplomatic move aimed at enhancing the relationship between Israel and the United Kingdom, Foreign Minister Eli Cohen met with his British counterpart, James Cleverly, in Jerusalem on Monday. This diplomatic engagement serves as a testament to the commitment of both nations to foster cooperation and expand areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Israel expressed its appreciation for the United Kingdom’s steadfast support in addressing issues of regional concern, particularly its efforts to address Iran’s nuclear program. Israel also acknowledged the UK’s dedication to advancing peace through initiatives like the Abraham Accords, which have played a pivotal role in fostering stability in the region.

 

Highlighting the significance of the United Kingdom as Israel’s largest trading partner in Europe, Foreign Minister Cohen advocated for the advancement of a free trade agreement between the two nations. “Israel-UK relations are currently at their peak. We see eye to eye on many issues and jointly promote joint economic and technological projects,” Cohen emphasized during the discussions.
