China recorded a notable improvement in its international trade performance in September, as both exports and imports expanded, signaling steady momentum in global commerce and supply chain activity.
According to official customs data released on Monday, China’s exports rose by 8.3% year-on-year in dollar terms, while imports increased by 7.4%. The export growth surpassed the market expectation of a 6.0% rise, while imports also exceeded forecasts of a 1.5% gain.
The stronger-than-expected trade performance reflects resilient demand for Chinese goods and a gradual recovery in international market activity. Analysts note that the results point to improved trade balance and continued stability in global supply chains, reinforcing China’s vital role as a major player in international trade.
