The Chilean blueberry industry continues to strengthen its global presence as the 2024-2025 export season progresses. According to the Chilean Fruit Blueberry Committee, total exports have reached 55,946 tons as of the second week of 2025, reflecting steady demand and effective market strategies. Notably, 11,767 tons were shipped in the initial weeks of the year.

This season’s export volume marks a 7% increase from the previous cycle, highlighting Chile’s resilience in the global market. However, compared to the 2022-2023 season, exports have declined by 18%, reflecting shifting industry dynamics. The organic blueberry segment continues to expand, now representing 12% of Chile’s total blueberry exports. By week 2, the country had exported 6,759 tons of organic blueberries, including 1,855 tons shipped during the peak period.

Chile’s blueberries remain a top choice in international markets, with Continental Europe leading as the primary destination, accounting for 41% of total exports. The United States follows with a 35% market share, reinforcing its role as a key trading partner. Meanwhile, South Korea and the United Kingdom maintain strong demand, securing 8% and 7% of Chile’s exports, respectively.

The continued success of the Chilean blueberry industry is driven by strategic export planning, consistent product quality, and the growing consumer preference for organic produce. Looking ahead, Chile’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and expanding its global reach is expected to further enhance its competitive position in the fresh produce sector.
