Brazil has set a new benchmark in the global coffee trade, with an all-time high of 46.3 million bags of coffee exported in November 2024. This significant achievement marks a 5.4% increase from the previous year and reflects Brazil’s growing dominance in the coffee export market. This year, Brazil has already surpassed 46 million bags in exports, a 3.78% increase over the previous record set in 2020.

The export surge has also translated into substantial revenue growth. November’s coffee sales alone generated US$ 1.343 billion, a remarkable 62.7% increase compared to the same month in 2023. Over the first 11 months of 2024, Brazil’s coffee exports have brought in US$ 11.30 billion, marking a 22.3% rise compared to the same period last year.

The United States remains Brazil’s top destination for coffee exports, receiving 16% of total shipments, followed by Germany, Belgium, Italy, and Japan. Arabica continues to lead the export categories, with over 33.97 million bags shipped, a 23.2% increase from the previous year. Canephora varieties also contribute to the country’s growing export portfolio.

Sustainability continues to drive Brazil’s coffee industry, with 17.5% of the exports, or 8.112 million bags, certified as top-quality or sustainably produced. This increase of 33.5% from last year highlights Brazil’s commitment to ethical and environmentally conscious coffee production. The premium coffees achieved an average price of US$ 269.41 per bag, generating US$ 2.185 billion, contributing 19.3% to Brazil’s overall export revenue.

This record-breaking achievement demonstrates Brazil’s continued leadership in the coffee export market, solidifying its role in the global supply chain and enhancing international trade opportunities.
