Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met on Monday to discuss trade, connectivity, and bilateral cooperation, alongside ongoing dialogue on maintaining stability at the border.
“We had productive conversations on our economic and trade issues, pilgrimages, people-to-people contacts, river data sharing, border trade, connectivity, and bilateral exchanges,” Jaishankar said following the meeting. He noted that the discussions aimed to support a stable and forward-looking relationship between the two countries.
Wang Yi arrived in New Delhi on a two-day visit, during which he is scheduled to attend the 24th round of border talks with Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and also meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Officials emphasized that ensuring open dialogue on both trade and regional issues will be important in promoting stronger cooperation between the two nations.
