Ecuador, a key supplier, saw a 30% rise in exports to Kyrgyzstan, with shipments totaling 29,099.6 tons valued at $20.87 million. This surge underscores the growing role Ecuador plays in meeting global demand for bananas, and it reflects the strong trade relationship between the two nations. Bananas from Ecuador are priced at an average of $717 per ton, reinforcing the competitiveness of Ecuadorian produce in international markets.
In addition to Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan has diversified its sources of banana imports, including new shipments from China, which contributed 2,168.9 tons in 2024. Other key suppliers included Kazakhstan, India, and Uzbekistan, further enriching Kyrgyzstan’s import portfolio and enhancing its position in the global fruit trade.
