In January 2024, Uzbekistan’s cabbage exports experienced a notable upturn, with shipments totaling 29,100 tons and yielding a revenue of 7 million US dollars, according to recent data released by the Statistics Agency. This surge reflects a substantial financial growth of 4.6 million US dollars compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.

The primary recipients of Uzbekistan’s cabbage exports were Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus, accounting for significant portions of the total shipments. Specifically, Russia received 14,500 tons, Kazakhstan 13,000 tons, and Belarus 35,300 tons of cabbage. Additionally, other countries such as the Kyrgyz Republic, Latvia, and Tajikistan also imported notable quantities, with respective shipments of 1,000 tons, 440 tons, and 73 tons.

The increase in cabbage exports underscores Uzbekistan’s growing presence in international trade markets and highlights the country’s agricultural prowess. With consistent demand from neighboring and regional markets, Uzbekistan continues to capitalize on its agricultural resources to bolster economic growth and strengthen trade relationships. As cabbage exports contribute significantly to the nation’s export revenue, this uptick serves as a positive indicator for Uzbekistan’s economy in the global market.
