Moldova has achieved a significant milestone in its agricultural export sector, with apple exports to the European Union reaching an impressive $12.48 million in the first ten months of 2024, marking a twofold increase in value compared to the previous year. This surge is attributed to the hard work of Moldovan farmers and targeted government initiatives aimed at expanding access to competitive markets.

One of the key drivers behind this growth is the extension of trade liberalization measures with the EU, which has opened up broader opportunities for Moldovan producers. As a result, the European Union’s share of Moldova’s apple exports has risen dramatically, from just 0.4% in 2021 to 18% in 2024.

This increase not only highlights the superior quality of Moldovan apples but also underscores the country’s growing potential to make its mark in global trade. Moldova’s agricultural sector, with its focus on quality and international market integration, is set to continue benefiting from ongoing support and favorable trade conditions.
