The National Board of Revenue (NBR) Customs Wing is at the forefront of tackling counterfeit and transnational crime in Bangladesh. As the primary agency responsible for enforcing customs laws, the NBR Customs Wing has implemented several initiatives to prevent the flow of counterfeit goods while promoting legitimate trade. These include establishing an informative website, creating an online customs declaration portal, and launching public awareness campaigns to educate citizens about the dangers of counterfeit goods and the importance of compliance.

International cooperation is a key focus for NBR Customs Wing, which has partnered with countries such as India and participated in regional workshops hosted by the World Customs Organization (WCO). Recent legal reforms, such as the Customs Act, 2022, have strengthened the agency’s powers, enabling closer collaboration with law enforcement agencies like Bangladesh Police. Furthermore, NBR Customs Wing has taken significant steps toward sustainability with a paperless system and solar energy projects. The agency continues to enhance trade facilitation and combat counterfeit goods with innovative technologies, such as blockchain systems for tracking goods.
