Continuing the cycle of annual events, this conference follows the previous meeting held jointly with Switzerland in Lugano. The URC is committed to bolstering the Lugano Principles, which ignited global efforts and paved the way for Ukraine’s reconstruction process during the ongoing Russian aggression.
While appreciable international emergency assistance has been pledged since the Lugano conference, Ukraine’s stabilization and recovery needs call for a larger mobilization of both public and private sectors. URC 2023 aims to secure emergency assistance for immediate needs and encourage private sector participation in the reconstruction process.
The ITC has consistently supported Ukraine, commencing with the inaugural Global Economic Impact Forum on Ukraine held in Istanbul, Turkiye, in June 2023. Since then, the ITC has actively assisted Ukraine in securing foreign investments and fostering international trade relationships. By standing firm in this latest gathering, the ITC reaffirms its commitment to finding innovative solutions to expedite Ukraine’s recovery from the unjust invasion by Russia.
The conference welcomes participants from the international community, international financial institutions, private sectors, and civil society. We are particularly excited to witness the leading role of the private sector in Ukraine’s recovery, through the application of expertise and investment in specific sectors and opportunities. To facilitate this, Ukraine is implementing an ambitious reform agenda aimed at enhancing investment attractiveness and reducing risk.
Please be advised that conference attendance is limited due to security considerations and is by invitation only. More information about the conference program will be released closer to the event.
The ITC looks forward to supporting Ukraine in its recovery journey and strengthening its ties with global commerce organizations to boost Ukrainian exports. The Council remains devoted to Ukraine’s swift economic resurgence amidst the challenging circumstances of war.
