The Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA) has taken significant steps in the fight against counterfeit and transnational crime. Through a combination of legal reforms, international cooperation, and sustainable practices, the LRA has enhanced trade facilitation and customs enforcement in the region. Notably, the agency has embraced transparency initiatives, including a user-friendly online portal for customs declarations and public awareness campaigns to combat counterfeit goods.
The LRA’s dedication to sustainable development is reflected in its paperless clearance system, solar panel installation, and energy-efficient technologies. In addition to these efforts, the LRA has strengthened its capacity to combat crime by implementing a risk-based approach to customs clearance and leveraging blockchain technology for tracking goods’ origin. The authority’s collaborative efforts with law enforcement agencies and its ongoing capacity-building initiatives continue to solidify its position as a leader in global trade enforcement.
