Cambodia’s dry rubber exports generated a robust $213.3 million in revenue during the first half of 2024, marking an 8.6% increase from $196.3 million during the same period last year, according to a recent report. The country exported 140,653 tonnes of dry rubber from January to June this year, reflecting a modest 1% rise from the 139,220 tonnes exported in the same period last year.
“A ton of dry rubber averaged $1,517 during the first half of the year, which is about $107 more than the average price in the same period last year,” stated an official in the report. Cambodia primarily exports dry rubber to Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, and China, solidifying its position as a significant player in the regional rubber market.
The report also highlighted that Cambodia has planted rubber trees across a total area of 407,172 hectares, with 320,184 hectares, or 78.6%, having trees mature enough for tapping.
