LONDON, United Kingdom — Action on Africa Woman Foundation Ghana, a community-driven non-governmental organisation based in Ghana, has announced that Personal Assistant Isaac Dodzi Mordo will represent the organisation at the International Trade Council Global Convocation & Leadership Forum in London. The three-day event brings together international trade officials, policymakers, and business leaders to foster sustainable global economic growth, supply chain resilience, and market access. Mr Mordo’s participation highlights the critical link between grassroots community development and the broader international trade landscape.

Headquartered in Tema, the foundation has been active since at least 2006, dedicating its efforts to gender equality and local empowerment for women, youth, and children. By participating in this global forum, the organisation aims to showcase how local capacity building and socio-economic development are fundamental to constructing resilient international supply chains. The foundation’s initiatives demonstrate that fostering talent, employment, and economic self-sufficiency at the community level creates a stable foundation for international trade and export opportunities.

A key focus of the foundation’s presentation in London will be its transition of local enterprises toward sustainable practices. The organisation actively promotes the adoption of green energy technologies, such as solar power and liquefied petroleum gas, to transition women from traditional, high-emission bread-baking methods to cleaner energy. This shift not only improves the local quality of life but also enhances the economic efficiency of small-scale businesses, making them more competitive in regional and global markets.

Furthermore, the foundation will share insights from its regional development programmes, such as the CAP-500 Project. This initiative successfully targeted rural women entrepreneurs for training and empowerment across three districts in Ghana’s Central Region. The foundation’s capacity to scale local initiatives is complemented by its international footprint, which includes cross-border academic partnerships connecting Ghanaian students with Acharya University in India, and its commitment as a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact.

“Participating in this forum allows us to demonstrate how local community empowerment directly feeds into global economic stability. When we equip women and youth with sustainable skills and green energy technologies, we are not just improving local livelihoods; we are building the foundation for resilient trading partners on the world stage.”

“Through our administrative and operational coordination at this event, we hope to establish new international collaborations that will expand our educational and economic programmes. Aligning grassroots Ghanaian enterprise with international trade pathways is essential for long-term, self-sufficient development.”

The foundation’s delegation in London is led by its Executive Director, Nana Kumasah Krampah II, who is also a prominent traditional ruler in the Central Region of Ghana. Alongside Mr Mordo, the delegation will engage in multilateral dialogue to explore new avenues for agricultural investment, green technology transfer, and international educational exchanges that will benefit local communities across Ghana.
