Amna Rumaisa – Research Co-Lead for Women in International Business Council
Amna Rumaisa serves as a Director at the Working Women Welfare Trust (WWWT), an organization dedicated to empowering women through gender financing and creating business opportunities for underprivileged skilled labor and women entrepreneurs running SMEs. With a deep-seated passion for philanthropy and improving the status of women in Pakistan, Amna has been instrumental in driving initiatives that support marginalized women in starting their own businesses and nurturing their growth.
Recently appointed as Research Co-Lead for the Women in International Business Council, Amna contributes to shaping research agendas that address key issues impacting women in business worldwide. In this role, she collaborates with council members to promote data-driven insights that can foster policy development and support women’s economic inclusion on a global scale.
Amna’s educational background in Genetics, along with her teaching experience in Biotechnology at the University of Karachi and Dow University of Health Sciences, has equipped her with a unique skill set. Her expertise in speech and writing on women’s issues, combined with her love for travel and interacting with women from diverse cultural backgrounds, has significantly contributed to her role at WWWT.
Throughout her career, Amna has led impactful projects such as “Hunar Banae Zindagi” and “We Together,” which focus on vocational training and support for women entrepreneurs. Her development of “Namud,” a soft skills training program inspired by Allama Iqbal’s philosophy, exemplifies her dedication to self-refinement and personal development. This program has benefited participants across various organizations and institutions.
Recognizing the rapid evolution of communication and transportation, Amna remains optimistic about the industry’s trajectory towards offering increased opportunities for women’s financial independence. She is particularly enthusiastic about the use of social media and digital marketing as tools for promoting women’s businesses.
A strong advocate for fairness and justice, Amna encourages aspiring professionals to uphold these values. When faced with setbacks, she highlights the importance of seeking support from friends and colleagues.
Outside of her professional life, Amna enjoys painting, cooking, gardening, and traveling. Her travels allow her to immerse herself in different cultures, enhancing her appreciation for global diversity.
