UAE Visa Suspension: Things You Need to Know

Suspension of UAE Entry Visas take effect today, March 17, 2020

Starting today, March 17 the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship has temporarily suspended the issuance of all entry visas until further notice to prevent the spread of coronavirus- COVID19. However, passport holders from a number of countries and certain individuals would be exempt from the ban but would be subject to enhanced screening on arrival.

These exemptions would be;

  1. Those who hold passports from some countries and or visa-on-arrival, see the complete list here
  2. Passengers holding diplomatic passports (exceptions apply, check prior to travel)
  3. Individuals who have had visas issued prior to March 17, 2020.

If you are directly affected by any of these changes our initial advice is to check with your airline if there is a travel restriction or suspension to or from your country of destination.
