The International Trade Council is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Sherif Hassan as the Council’s Regional Chairperson for Maryland State, effective immediately.
Based in Bethesda, Mr. Hassan is talented, multilingual international physician. Trained in the United Kingdom as a critical care physician. Passion for travel which started as a teenager led to a career twist towards travel medicine and infectious disease.
Currently dedicating clinical time towards precision medicine, incorporating integrative medicine with genomic mapping, traditional as well as nutritional and lifestyle management geared to the individual patient.
Mr. Hassan holds the title of Consultant to several entities:
- The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
- International Society of Travel Medicine.
- American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
Mr. Hassan is also a speaker and organizer of European medical tourism conferences with focus on the latest developments in healthcare and technology applications.

Mr. Hassan will head up the Council’s Maryland regional operations and act as the key liaison with government agencies, chambers of commerce and regional trade bodies on behalf of the Council and its members.
With the appointment Ms. Hassan becomes a key member of the Council’s executive team and aims to provide strong leadership to the Council’s members across the region.
