Merger of Law Offices of Nithya Nagarajan LLC with Husch Blackwell

I am pleased to announce that I am merging my practice the Law Offices of Nithya Nagarajan, LLC (NNLLC) with the International Trade practice of Husch Blackwell in its Washington, DC office as a Partner.  I will officially join the new firm on February 12, 2018.

Husch Blackwell’s international trade remedies team assists Fortune 100 U.S. producers, international trading companies, foreign trade associations, and numerous medium-sized corporations worldwide with complex problems involving all aspects of trade remedies.  The ability to offer my clients the tremendous resources available at Husch Blackwell will provide over 100 years of collective experience to the table.

Significantly, members of my new team draw on practical knowledge gained from industry experience and government service with two of the most important agencies in antidumping or countervailing duty investigations.   In addition to my own experience as an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel for Enforcement and Compliance and as Senior Analyst in the Office of AD/CVD enforcement, my team will now comprise of a former attorney in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. International Trade Commission.

My new firm’s broader capabilities include customs expertise to address issues with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).  We closely coordinate trade remedies strategy with CBP strategy to ensure goods are imported efficiently and with proper duty rates imposed. We also coordinate with the firm’s government affairs, white collar crime, and corporate reorganization and bankruptcy attorneys to ensure seamless representation. Additionally, we counsel companies involved in mergers and acquisitions that could be affected materially by trade remedies issues.

Our team’s primary location in Washington, D.C. offers close access to pertinent agencies and decision makers, including the International Trade Commission, the Department of Commerce (International Trade Administration), the U.S. Trade Representative, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the White House.

We have developed an extensive network of experienced foreign trade lawyers and consultants in most major countries with whom we work closely. Our work has included matters for clients in China, India, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, the U.K., Canada, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
