Vincent Cheong Meng Wah serves as the Chief Business Officer of Rakan Asia International Sdn Bhd, a leading eCommerce service and consulting firm specializing in Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME) solutions. With a wealth of experience in eCommerce, administration, supply chain management, and human resources, Vincent has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of digital commerce in Malaysia.

 

Vincent’s journey in the eCommerce industry began in response to the growing demand from local SMEs and MSMEs for comprehensive eCommerce solutions tailored for global marketplaces such as Amazon.sg, IndiaMart.com, and Blibli.com. His expertise and leadership have been instrumental in establishing Rakan Asia International as a trusted partner for businesses venturing into the digital realm.

 

Throughout his career, Vincent has undertaken various noteworthy projects and initiatives that have significantly contributed to his success. Notably, he was appointed as an advisor to the Malaysian government’s National eCommerce Initiative, “My Cyber Sales,” in 2013. Under his guidance and ideas, he has successfully implemented the first eCommerce delivery service in the Klang Valley, generating a monthly revenue of USD 76K in 2013/14.

 

Vincent’s professional accomplishments are a testament to his dedication and expertise in the eCommerce domain. He pioneered the concept of the first eCommerce marketplace flagship store in 2019 and was the first Malaysian panel speaker at the World E-Commerce Conference in 2017. Additionally, he holds the distinction of being awarded the Certified E-Commerce Consultant designation by the American Academy of Project Management in 2017.

 

As an industry veteran, Vincent has witnessed the evolution of eCommerce firsthand. He acknowledges the growing opportunities for SMEs and MSMEs to market and sell their products globally, driven by advancements in technology and changing consumer behavior. However, he also recognizes the challenges facing the industry, particularly in securing funding for expansion and upgrading operations.

 

Looking ahead, Vincent envisions a continued demand for eCommerce service providers as businesses strive to enhance their revenue and brand awareness in the global market. He remains excited about the prospects of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) in revolutionizing eCommerce operations and customer service.

 

Outside of his professional endeavors, Vincent enjoys indulging in hobbies such as listening to sentimental and R&B music, traveling, and caring for his pet fish. He draws inspiration from visionary leaders in the eCommerce sector, citing Mr. Jack Ma of China and Mr. Pawoot of Thailand as his role models.
