Q: Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself (personally and professionally)?
A: I initially worked in a manufacturing research laboratory in Japan. This is where I first learned about the Vidicon tube camera and video recording systems. This was in the era of 1 inch Vidicon cameras.
After so many years it has also become a passionate personal interest of mine.
Q: How did you get started in this business?
A: I originally befriended a key person in Nippon Video Co, which is the manufacturer of Vidicon Video Cameras and Sewer Pipe Inspection Camera Systems. As a result of this connection I was appointed as a representative and sole distributor in Asia. Now we also do some skilled assembly of CCTV and ancillary products directly within our company.
Q: Can you describe your customers / what type of customers do you have?
A: Our first customers were typically retailers who handled precious items (gold, diamonds and jewellery for example). Eventually we spread out into industrial sectors including the maritime industry where there is a high risk of theft.
Q: What are some of your “keys to success” in building your customer base?
A: I believe that the key to success in business is providing reliable and quality products which are appropriate to the customers needs. We must always do what is right by the client and ensure that anything we give them is really going to work for them – and work well. Every one of our customers should have a feeling that they have made the right investment when working with us.
Q: Is there anything about your business that you feel makes it special?
A: Our ability to tailor unique solutions for each customer. To do this we analyse the specific needs of the client, discuss with them their issues and problems and we look at which of the products we offer is most suitable and how it can be tailored to meet the specific needs of our customer.
Q: Where do you see your business in the next year? In the next five years? In the next ten years?
A: We are focused on growth through customer satisfaction and referrals. By providing solid and reliable solutions we gain the trust of our clients and they are inclined to refer new customers to us. We trust that our philosophy will keep the business expanding for many years to come.
