Every week the Council interviews a new or existing member about their organization. This week we interview Bill Short, CEO of AM-PRES Corporation – a consulting firm specializing in renewable energy and overall utility cost reductions. Bill is also Chairperson of the Council’s new Energy Working Group.
Q: Hello Bill, Thank you for joining us. Could you tell me how you got started in this field of business?
A: As an executive in the international hospitality industry the cost of utilities was a large part of the operating costs and apparently was not controllable. As CEO of a major mechanical contracting firm I had visibility of both emerging technologies to control utility costs and the burden that commercial, industrial and residential consumers bore for utility costs. I then focused on bringing cost reduction through both technology and operating standards to the market worldwide.
Q: Can you describe your customers / what type of customers do you have?
A: The customers of AM-PRES Corporation are forward-thinking executives seeking to utilize best practices and leading-edge proven technology to control utility costs, meet constantly growing government regulation, and be good stewards of natural resources.
Q: What are some of your “keys to success” in building your customer base?
A: Always being straightforward and transparent with customers, vendors and peers. My customers rely on the information, technologies and potential vendors that I bring to them, and that I am doing the best for them every time. They rely on AM-PRES Corporation to provide accurate, current and relevant information and technology.
Q: Is there anything about your business that you feel makes it special?
A: Experience. What I mean by that is we have experience in many varied industries domestically and internationally. We have credibility through successful project completion. We have integrity and the satisfaction of knowing that we are doing the right thing for every customer.
Q: Where do you see your business in the next year? In the next five years? In the next ten years?
A: The technology in the utility sector – energy and other resources – is improving constantly. AM-PRES Corporation will be staying abreast of the growth of technology and the continuing regulations relating to the use of resources. Within the next year we see growth in our customer base in the USA and internationally. Looking to the longer future, we expect the need for utility cost reduction – and natural resource management – to increase and we see ourselves reaching customers in a broader industry mix.
Thank you Bill! We look forward to hearing more about the successful activities of AM-PRES Corporation and yourself very soon!
