Q: How did you get started in this business?
We started in the fast-paced city of Bombay (Mumbai) with a small shop for designer cutlery. From there, we grew in sales and decided to create our own manufacturing base. We started our manufacturing company in 1952.
Now, we are a SA8000 manufacturing house.
Q: Can you describe your customers / what type of customers do you have?
Retailers, Discount Stores, Home & Interior Stores. Our Customers are in business who sell a kind of Home and/or utility items.
To name a few -Sainsbury’s PLC, Tesco, Next, Freedom Stores, Leen Bakker.
Q: What are some of your “keys to success” in building your customer base?
Our primary factors of success at Zakaria are – Dependability, Product, Quality and Delivery Security with huge emphasis on relationship management.
Q: Is there anything about your business that you feel makes it special?
We strive and feel proud of few things in our business which sets us apart. Our trend-consciousness helps us to design great products. Our constant engagement with customers to improve service quality and timely action is a special tool of success.
Q: Where do you see your business in the next year? In the next five years? In the next ten years?
The company’ vision is to maintain and continue its leadership role in the Metal Home and Décor business servicing the best in this industry worldwide.
We have a vision 2020 for Zakaria Shahid Industries to be hallmark of quality.
In this new vision, we want to upgrade in all aspects of our eco-system.
Our employee welfare schemes, technological advancements in operations, investments in new machinery and plants are some of key areas where we are looking to invest the most in the coming 5 years.
