Event Details
The Digital Heritage Lab is funded by The National Heritage Lottery Fund as part of the Digital Skills for Heritage Initiative.
Who is it for?
People working or volunteering in a small to medium sized heritage organisation with some digital knowledge.
What is it about?
The first workshop considers the raw material of all online collections content: digitised versions of real objects and associated information from collections databased. Digitised collections have many of the same management issues as physical collections, and need careful planning and rigorous documentation if you want to avoid getting in a muddle and have the information you need to create online content at your fingertips.
What will I gain?
– An appreciation of the issues to consider when planning collections digitisation.
– An understanding of how to manage digital assets such as images and other media files within the context of a small heritage organisation.
– Signposting to key resources with helpful further information on the topics covered.
