Effective Contract Management

We are pleased to announce that our SANDER TING will deliver a training session for SGS Hong Kong Limited on EFFECTIVE CONTRACT MANAGEMENT TRAINING in Sheung Wan Training Centre on the 8th September 2016 (Thursday) from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

This course explores vital issues from the manager’s perspective, highlighting risky clauses and how to counter the effect of these clauses. The course is highly interactive and combined with exercises and group discussions to maximize the learning experience.

The focus of this course will be to:

  • Identify contract components and understand the process from start;
  • Select the right contract type and provisions for their project;
  • Decipher contract legalese; and
  • Negotiate favourable terms and make revisions to the contract.

It is now open for registration and special discounts for early birds.  Anyone interested about contracts negotiation and administration can register at the following site:

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Sander TING is a solicitor in Hong Kong and consultant at Ella Cheong Law Office. Prior to joining our firm, Sander worked in numerous multi-national corporations and listed companies (amongst others Huawei and FIH, formerly known as Foxconn International Holdings) as their legal advisor. Sander has advised on many cross-border technology and manufacturing transactions and has developed particular expertise in the area of contract management. Sander is often involved in complex transactions which requires him to identify and address legal risks and commercial imperatives in a transaction. Sander has also advised on many cross-border M&A and joint venture deals.

We take this opportunity to update you on what we have been doing at ELLA CHEONG LAW OFFICE in HK.  Most people know us as an IP boutique firm, however, we have recently gone through some changes.  Our senior partner, Ms. Ella Cheong, is now concentrating on all legal issues, including enforcement of IPRs and commercial-related IP issues (e.g. preparing of or reviewing agreements ensuring adequate protection for IPRs in agreements for licensing, franchising, employment, manufacturing, agency and distributorships), as well as litigious issues (including cancellations and oppositions of TMs) before the Courts and the IP Registries, but will not handle IP prosecution matters.

We provide services of a Notary Public for documentation, as Ella Cheong is on the Council of the HK Society of Notaries.

Our SG firm of ELLA CHEONG LLC was set up by special invitation of the then Attorney General of the Singapore Government, specifically for the practice of IP – the only lawyer so invited for this area of law, with a supporting office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  Our law offices in Singapore and Malaysia are now operative for all legal issues, (including IPR prosecution, commercial and litigious) and thus can handle all such issues in each of the 10 ASEAN countries (i.e. Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Brunei).

For more information on how our firm of Ella Cheong Law Office (in HK) and associated firm of Ella Cheong LLC (in SG) can assist on legal issues in Asia, please visit www.ellacheonglaw.com and www.ellacheong-asia.com.
