Vietnam and Australia are poised to enhance their collaboration in the energy and mineral sectors with the upcoming signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU), announced the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Melbourne.
The MOU aims to bolster cooperation between the two nations in energy and mineral resources, marking a significant step towards deeper bilateral ties in these crucial sectors.
According to the ministry's statement, the agreement will streamline Australia's exports of coal and liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Vietnam. Australia presently stands as a pivotal coal supplier to Vietnam, contributing to 44% of the country's total coal imports.
The signing of the MOU underscores the commitment of both Vietnam and Australia to fostering mutually beneficial partnerships in energy and mineral trade, paving the way for sustained collaboration and economic growth.
