Blueberries shipped to key markets. These include the U.S., Europe, the UK, and China, where demand continues to grow, showcasing the global appetite for Peruvian produce.
The U.S. remains Peru's largest export destination, accounting for 50% of total shipments, with projected exports of 147,579 tons. This represents a notable 17% increase compared to the previous season, signaling strong growth in this key market. Europe, excluding the UK, is also expected to see a 50% rise in shipments, reaching 75,122 tons. Meanwhile, China and the UK are witnessing remarkable increases in demand, with projected shipments of 48,397 tons and 17,328 tons, respectively.
Peru’s success in the global market extends to both conventional and organic blueberries. Conventional blueberries will account for 260,000 tons of exports, while organic blueberries will make up 33,700 tons. This balanced approach ensures Peru remains competitive across different consumer preferences, driving further growth in international markets.
The continued strength of Peru’s blueberry sector underscores the nation’s ability to meet rising global demand while fostering international trade relationships. As demand for high-quality produce continues to expand, Peru's export strategies are poised to create new opportunities for global trade and collaboration.
