Denmark is reigniting its commitment to advancing energy technology exports with the reopening of its subsidy pool, allocating DKK 9.3 million ($1.36 million) to support public-private partnerships. The Danish Energy Agency has launched this latest edition of the Grant Pool for the Promotion of Energy Export Efforts, aiming to foster collaboration between public and private entities to drive innovation and expand market reach.
The funding is designed to support a range of activities, including data collection, market analysis, and dissemination of knowledge, with a focus on developing concrete business models that enhance energy exports. Public-private partnerships, which must include at least one public and one private entity, are encouraged to apply. Notably, projects involving partners from the 24 countries Denmark already collaborates with in the energy sector are given preference.
The application period for these grants will be open until October 11. Submissions should be made through the Danish Energy Agency’s grant portal. Since its inception in 2019, the grant pool has supported 26 projects across diverse areas such as energy efficiency, district heating, offshore wind, and biogas, spanning regions including Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
The 2023 funding cycle saw DKK 8.5 million allocated to eight projects, addressing key areas like district heating in the Netherlands and Poland, wind energy in India and Egypt, and energy efficiency in the United States. This renewed focus on energy technology exports underscores Denmark’s strategic push to bolster its role in the global energy market.
