Azerbaijan continues to demonstrate its resilience in international trade, exporting 368,549 tons of fruits and vegetables from January to July 2024. These exports generated an impressive USD 383,863,000 in revenue, as reported by the State Customs Committee. While there was a slight decline compared to the previous year, this performance highlights the country's ongoing strength in the agricultural sector.
Despite a modest 4% reduction in revenue and a 7.2% decrease in export volume, Azerbaijan's fruit and vegetable sector remains a crucial component of its economy. The nation’s ability to generate nearly USD 384 million from these exports underscores the continued demand for Azerbaijani produce on the global stage.
In the same period in 2023, Azerbaijan exported 396,900 tons of fruits and vegetables, valued at USD 400,118,000. Even with the slight dip, fruits and vegetables still accounted for 2.38% of Azerbaijan's total exports, with non-oil products making up 20.48% of the export portfolio. This reflects Azerbaijan's strategic focus on diversifying its exports and reducing reliance on oil.
Azerbaijan’s commitment to maintaining high standards and expanding its agricultural export markets continues to reinforce its position as a key player in global trade. The country’s resilience and adaptability in the face of shifting market dynamics are positive indicators of sustained growth and future opportunities in the agricultural sector.
