Azerbaijan is experiencing a noteworthy surge in its agricultural exports, with significant increases in both tomato and date shipments for the first eight months of 2024. The country has exported 116,952 tons of tomatoes, valued at $139.5 million, reflecting a 12.3% increase in export value and a 4.4% rise in quantity compared to the previous year. Tomatoes now constitute a significant portion of Azerbaijan’s total and non-oil exports.
Additionally, Azerbaijan has achieved remarkable growth in date exports, with 35,365 tons valued at $27.8 million exported during the same period. This represents a substantial 75% increase in quantity and a nearly doubled value compared to last year.
These impressive figures underscore Azerbaijan’s growing influence in international trade and its expanding presence in global markets. The increased exports of tomatoes and dates highlight the country’s successful agricultural sector and its strengthening trade relationships.
