A region in Vietnam is making significant strides in digital transformation to elevate trade and investment opportunities, with a budget allocation of VND2.45 billion (approximately US$99,212) dedicated to trade promotion in 2024. Authorities have approved several trade promotion programs aimed at expanding local markets and improving the traceability of numerous products.
Key initiatives include the development of an e-commerce platform that enables consumers to easily trace product origins, fostering greater market transparency. To date, thousands of product codes have been scanned on this platform, with many retail locations actively participating in this digital marketplace. Additionally, partnerships with telecom providers have led to the introduction of cashless payment systems across various trade centers and supermarkets, enhancing transaction convenience for consumers.
Strategic collaborations are also being pursued to stimulate trade and promote local products on international platforms, facilitating greater market access. This includes engagement with various businesses to enhance trade cooperation and expand the reach of local goods.
Furthermore, strong connections with major urban centers are being maintained, resulting in numerous contracts for the supply of goods and actively supporting local businesses in participating in trade fairs and establishing international partnerships.
Looking ahead, plans are underway to create venues for showcasing local products and typical merchandise, supported by funding from rural development programs. Authorities are focused on building strong brand identities and enhancing product consumption both domestically and internationally.
Through these efforts, the region is fostering a dynamic trade environment that not only boosts economic growth but also strengthens its position in the global marketplace.
