Pakistan's business community has achieved a significant milestone by generating revenue of $160 million from the export of 321,490 tons of kinnow worldwide during the 2024 season. Shoaib Ahmed Basra, former president of the Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Senior Vice Chairman of Fruit and Vegetables Pakistan, shared these insights during a media interaction.
Despite encountering losses due to adverse weather conditions, the export figures remained impressive, with 158,355 tons shipped via Sea-Port and 163,135 tons transported by road to various countries.
Initially, the Ministry of Commerce had set a target of exporting 400,000 tons of kinnow for the season, indicating the country's commitment to enhancing its presence in the global fruit market.
