MIAMI, June 11, 2018 – Miami-based global law firm Diaz Reus & Targ, LLP announced today that two of its Attorneys have been named Partners in the Miami office: Paola Sanchez Torres and Roland M. Potts.
Paola Sanchez Torres, who joined the firm in 2012, is a bilingual attorney focused on representing individuals as well as foreign and domestic entities in international and domestic litigation. Her experience also includes assisting in international transactions, contract disputes and arbitrations.
Paola is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS). She is admitted to practice in Florida, the District of Columbia, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Paola has been named to Florida Super Lawyers 2017 and 2018 as a Rising Star in International and Business Litigation. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from American University Washington College of Law and a B.S.B.A. in management from American University.
As to Roland M. Potts, who joined the firm in 2016, he has an extensive background in complex litigation and arbitration. Mr. Potts focuses his practice on representing multinational clients in both English and Spanish in various forums in matters involving business disputes, construction defects, products liability, and breach of contract. Mr. Potts also has experience handling matters involving issues of employment, attorney malpractice, defamation, real estate, negligence, mass tort, class actions, and government contracts.
He is admitted to practice in Florida, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and has arbitrated cases before the International Court of Arbitration for the International Chamber of Commerce, the American Arbitration Association, the Centro de Conciliación y Arbitraje de Panamá, the London Court of International Arbitration, and the Society of Maritime Arbitrators.
Mr. Potts is a Vice Chair for the International Ethics Committee of the American Bar Association and is a member of the International Law Section of the Florida Bar and of the Cuban American Bar Association. He is also a former Editor for the International Law Quarterly for the Caribbean Region.
Roland Potts was named to Florida Super Lawyers in 2016, 2017, and 2018 as a Rising Star in Civil Litigation, Class Action/Mass Torts, Criminal Defense: White Collar, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
He earned his J.D. from Florida International University College of Law, an MBA from Florida International University Chapman School of Business, with Honors, and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Miami.
